Gary Keener

Gary O. Keener got the radio bug in high school and went on to become a DJ, production director, music director, and engineer in radio. His biggest DJ gig was on the famous border-blaster, X-ROK80. Later he worked as an engineer in TV, then in equipment sales for several years, and then he became an FCC consultant to radio and TV broadcasters.

He’s SBE certified CBTE, speaks fluent Spanish, and knows what a text is. He consults local broadcasters on their technical and FCC regulatory problems and lives happily in San Antonio, Texas, about 4 blocks from the Alamo!

Dennis Gilliam

Dennis Gilliam first learned radio engineering as early as age 11 at KVOY AM in Yuma, Arizona. After high school he received his First Class Radiotelephone License and an AA degree in music while Chief Engineer for KAWC AM in Yuma. In 1983 he became CE for KZZP-AM/FM in Phoenix and then on the KMCR-KJZZ-KBAQ FM NPR for 25 years. After formal retirement as an employee in 2010, he started his own Signals Radio LLC and ever since he performed broadcast field engineering of all kinds in the Southwest, with a steady stream of construction or revamping broadcast facilities. He is also an Amateur Extra W7TFO, and plays euphonium in several community bands. He lived in Arizona all his life, and for the last 20 years his base of operations has been just outside the city of Maricopa, AZ.

Wray Reed

Wray Reed has acquired over 30 years experience in the broadcasting industry. Wray began his career as a transmitter technician, moved to assistant chief engineer, then on to becoming chief engineer. After 17 years he moved into broadcast sales where he has been providing service for the past 13 years. Joining the RF Specialties Group in 2002, Wray now operates the Fort Worth office for RF Specialties of Texas.

Bill Newbrough

Bill Newbrough has over 50 years of experience in the radio and TV industry, starting as a “rock & roll” DJ in 1958, at WVVW in Grafton WV. He obtained the FCC First Class license in 1960 and became chief engineer. From there he went on to various announcing and engineering positions in radio and TV in West Virginia and Indiana. A 20 year stint at NBC-TV and Radio, in Chicago and San Francisco, followed. From 1977 to 1989 he was engineering manager at the 50 kW NBC O&O, KNBR, in San Francisco. In 1989 NBC sold off all of its radio properties and Bill went into sales, as District Sales Manager for Harris Broadcast. Since 1993 he has been associated with both RF Specialties of California and RF Specialties of Washington, Inc

Don Jones

Don Jones has been involved in various SCA and satellite operations over the years, including co-founding Market Information of Omaha. His broadcast equipment career began in 1965 when he joined McMartin Industries. He worked in sales and marketing there until co-founding RF Specialties in 1982.

Jeff Motta

Jeff Motta is a former Marine / Airborne who served in the first Gulf War and traveled a lot with the USMC. He owned and operated a few businesses and has a long history of customer service, like when he worked with several phone companies researching data and focusing on sales team coordination. He joined RF Specialties in 2009 and ever since he has been instrumental in organizing and building the success of the company. Among his duties are managing sales, customer service, order fulfillment and billing. He likes talking to customers (a lot), and has a very open and interactive relationship with them. He typically works very closely with customers’ purchasing departments and accounting. He knows most customers and suppliers by first name and works closely with customers with tight timelines to help accomplishing projects big and small in a timely fashion. He persistently hunts down the best prices in the interest of customers. loves to research new and improved items for customers’ applications.
