Bryan Maldonado

Bryan is an electronics engineer with over 5 years of experience in the broadcast industry. He began his career in the two-way radio communication sector, providing tailored RF solutions for both commercial and military applications. During a brief stint in IT, Bryan discovered his true passion for RF hardware and antenna design, which ultimately led him into the great world of broadcasting. Known for his commitment to exceptional service, Bryan delivers expert product knowledge and reliable solutions that meet the diverse needs of RF Specialties’ customers.

Jeremy Preece

Jeremy Preece has been an avid fan and proponent of radio since he was a child. He got into radio as a career in his late teens, working on-air and in other capacities before truly discovering engineering was his gift. He served with one of the largest broadcasters in the country for over 20 years, and has been involved in hundreds of station builds, moves, upgrades, and maintenance projects across the USA. Jeremy is SBE certified as a CPBE with a DRB endorsement, and is a licensed amateur radio operator and private pilot. He now owns an engineering service company and remains passionate about keeping radio stations on the air and sounding great.

Tom Driggers

Tom has over 40 years of experience in radio and television, having entering the broadcast industry at age 13. He has designed, built and maintained multiple facilities of various sizes in small and major markets, from studios to high power transmitters facilities. He has complete end-to-end knowledge an experience in all functions of a broadcast facility including building construction and modification, computer/IT, audio, video, RF, preventive maintenance, procedures, documentation and FCC law compliance. Tom has also owned and operated radio stations during his career.

Dennis Gilliam

Dennis Gilliam first learned radio engineering as early as age 11 at KVOY AM in Yuma, Arizona. After high school he received his First Class Radiotelephone License and an AA degree in music while Chief Engineer for KAWC AM in Yuma. In 1983 he became CE for KZZP-AM/FM in Phoenix and then on the KMCR-KJZZ-KBAQ FM NPR for 25 years. After formal retirement as an employee in 2010, he started his own Signals Radio LLC and ever since he performed broadcast field engineering of all kinds in the Southwest, with a steady stream of construction or revamping broadcast facilities. He is also an Amateur Extra W7TFO, and plays euphonium in several community bands. He lived in Arizona all his life, and for the last 20 years his base of operations has been just outside the city of Maricopa, AZ.

Jessica Colyer

Jessica started as a radio engineering intern in the early 90’s. She always had a passion for electronics and learning. She transitioned into television as an Integrator in the late 90’s. Leveraging that experience, she then became a satellite truck engineer. As digital TV developed and took hold, she became a Field Service Engineer for a major encoder company, while staying on top of the technology and learning the advantages and pitfalls (mostly pitfalls… 🙂) of the transition to ATSC 1.0 and HDTV. She also worked as a freelance Transmission Tech for ESPN and a Satellite Engineer for ABC, CBS, Peak Uplink and Coastal Media Group. With her love for sales, engineering & customer support, Jessica strives to maintain her edge as a field operative and student of new technology. Jessica has been an SBE Chapter 36 member since 2014, has a part 107 drone certification and an FCC radio telephone operator’s license. She is currently studying SMPTE 2110 and ATSC 3.0 among other new technologies.

Dennis Pieri

Dennis Pieri always loved radio and has been in the broadcast industry since very early in life. He already owned and operated a radio station when he was just 23. Under his ten year management the station climbed from nowhere all the way to number one in the audience ratings. During his radio years he had the opportunity to learn RF with hands-on field experience of all kinds, including working on radio towers and antenna systems. He built several transmitter sites and managed numerous installations. He also was the founder of Bext Corporation and in recent years he participated in a number of projects where RF was utilized for scientific research purposes. In 2018 he acquired the West Coast branches of RF Specialties. To this day, he remains a true RF enthusiast.
